Application Instructions
STEP 1: Carefully and prayerfully read through the full application folder.
STEP 2: Complete all pages.
STEP 3: The following documents are to be submitted with your application to the office:
A recent photo of the Applicant attached to the Application for Admission. (ID size)
Include the applicant student’s past two (2) school reports or nursery school reports,
Transfer Card from previous school.
Copy of Learners ID or Birth Certificate.
Copy of last statement from previous school.
Proof of residence.
Immunisation details.
Copies of Identification Documents of BOTH parents.
STEP 4: A formal credit check will be initiated, being successful there in; you will be informed by the Senior Administrator that you application has been successful. The learner will be subject to an entrance evaluation.
STEP 5: The Administrator will book a final interview with the parents.
STEP 6: Upon notification that your application has been successful, please settle the first month’s school fees (payable in advance) PLUS the Registration Fee and Text Book Fee within 3 days to secure your child’s enrolment.
STEP 7: Arrange for your child’s transport to and from school. Transport arrangements must conform to our school hours. Sunward Christian Academy does not take any responsibility for the arrangement for or transportation of your children. Sunward Christian Academy is not responsible for the early/late arrival/collection of children by any form of transportation. Should a child not be collected by later than 30 minutes after school, he/she will be waiting without supervision and the school cannot be held responsible for his well-being.
STEP 8: Because prayer is so important in this ministry, please immediately start praying for the School and your child’s progress and Christian growth.
STEP 9: The school expects the learners and parents to respect the rules, that learners must wear the full school uniform and sports uniform as prescribed, even more strictly when off the school grounds. Learners must always be neat as a pin.
Admission Procedures
Sunward Christian Academy admits children from every race and nationality to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally made available to students enrolled in the school.
We recommend that our staff enrol their own children in Sunward Christian Academy as this serves as an indicator of the staff’s genuine commitment to S.C.A. and Christian Education.
All learners must comply with the natural chronological requirements of the grade where admission is required. Grade 1 learners will be asked to complete a school readiness test, to ensure emotional and physical readiness. Grade 1 learners will be enrolled after obtaining 80% or higher. The learner will only be considered for Grade 1 if he/she turns 7 in their Grade 1 year.
Parents/Guardians must understand that the medium of tuition will be English first language and Afrikaans second language.
It is regular S.C.A. procedure to provide each family with the opportunity to consider possible changes in their situation and to prayerfully reconsider re-enrolment for their child/children for the next year.
It does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, national and ethnic origin or language background in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, athletics and other school administered programs.
An interview will be held with parents and the learner. The code of conduct will be available to read and sign. The provider will expect the learner to respect the rules inside and out of classrooms.
PROBATION PERIOD
Should your child be enrolled at Sunward Christian Academy he/she will be subjected to a 3-month probationary period, after which the parents and/or guardians of the child will be called to a meeting where the integration of the child into Sunward Christian Academy will be discussed.
